Softness-Saving Tips: Step-by-Step Guide to Hand Washing

Consigli salva-morbidezza: guida passo passo per il lavaggio a mano

Has it ever happened to you that after just a few washes your clothes have lost their softness and elasticity, have faded or become filled with annoying fluff?

If you don't want to resort to dry cleaning, here are some simple instructions to follow to preserve the beauty of your garments: we recommend that you also follow them to wash the pieces from our Knitwear collection.

Step 1: Preparation
Fill a basin with warm water: avoid high temperatures, hot water can shrink or deform garments made of natural yarn.

Step 2: Choose the Detergent
Add a detergent formulated for delicates or a neutral soap for hand washing. Avoid harsh detergents, they can damage the fibers.

Step 3: Washing
Immerse the garment in water and let it soak for about 5-10 minutes, then rub the various parts of the garment very gently. Avoid twisting or wringing your garments, they could deform!

Step 4: Rinse
Empty the tub and rinse the shirt with cold water until there is no more soap. You can also add a fabric softener formulated for knitwear during the final rinse to maintain the softness of the garment.

Step 5: Drying
To dry, lay your garment on a clean towel, spread out on a flat surface: create a roll that allows it to absorb excess water. Replace the towel with a dry one and place your shirt spread out on it, on a horizontal surface.

Final Tips
Avoid hanging wet shirts, as the weight of the water can stretch them. If possible, let the shirt dry in the shade and away from direct heat.

Hand washing your shirt takes time and attention, but by following these steps you can ensure that your garment stays in perfect shape for a long time, whatever its composition. Give your garments the right care: give value to resources, while respecting the environment.
